From dust jacket notes: "Here is one of the most unique books ever published about movie and television celebrities and Hollywood film making. The more than 300 photographs reveal the role of cars n movies, in television, and in the personal lives of famous stars of the entertainment world. Never has such a rare and impressive collection of photographs ad information on customized cars and other vehicles been published. These are cars owned personally by Hollywood stars, many of whom are shown with their cars in informal poses wearing casual clothes. To the stars, their cars are a source of pride, and they collect them as others collect works of art. And the cars do represent a work of art. They tell the story of an era, and they reflect many ideas and revealing stories. Pictured within these pages are photographs of cars ranging from the early 1900s to the present, and onto futuristic models. We have here highly customized cars, antique and classic automobiles, sports cars, hot rods, race cars, elegant luxury cars, and unique, one-of-a-kind vehicles - some costing more than $30,000. Quite a few have become available as scale model kits sold at hobby stores. Included, too, are photographs that take the reader behind the scenes, revealing actual scenes being filmed...."
