Refund policy

We accept returns of books purchased directly from Sustainable Books within 30 days of delivery, including change-of-mind returns.

To request a return, email info@sustainablebooks.ca or info@sustainablebooks.com with your order number and the items you want to return. We will provide the return address and instructions. Please contact us before sending anything back.

For change-of-mind returns, books must be in the same condition as received. Existing wear on a used book does not affect return eligibility. Sets and bundles must include all items supplied.

If your book arrives damaged, incorrect, defective, or materially different from its description, contact us promptly. Photos can help us resolve the problem, but are not a condition of your legal rights. We will arrange a replacement or refund and cover any required return shipping.

For change-of-mind returns, you pay the return shipping cost. Original shipping charges are not refundable unless the return results from our error or applicable law requires a refund. We do not charge a restocking fee.

For customers in Canada and the United States, we will provide a return address in your country. If we require an international return, we will cover the return shipping cost.

Pack returned books securely. Use a tracked service and retain your shipping receipt.

We will issue an eligible refund within two business days of receiving the return. Refunds include the amount paid for the returned items and applicable taxes. Discounts are reflected in the refund amount.

Refunds go to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider can take additional time to display the credit.

Because many used books are unique copies, exchanges depend on availability. If a replacement is unavailable, we will provide a refund.

For cancellation requests, contact us as soon as possible. If the order has not shipped, we will cancel it and provide a full refund. After shipment, the return process applies.

Purchases made through Amazon follow the return process and policies for the Amazon marketplace where you placed the order. Start those returns through your Amazon account.

This policy does not limit any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
