For Child Development in Psychology, Education, Human Development, Child and Family Studies and Early Childhood Education particularly in applied College courses. Written by a highly regarded researcher in Cognitive Development and a noted Canadian clinical psychologist, this text presents the core research, theory and applications of Developmental Psychology in a chronological framework. The chronological approach highlights the integrated aspects of child development and therefore it is more "applied". With an attractive, profusely illustrated modular format, and a new built-in study guide, the second edition of this popular text will help students understand and appreciate the importance of Developmental Psychology in their own lives and in their careers. To make sure that Childrenis relevant and interesting for students, the text includes many applications demonstrating how research translates into practice. It has been updated to highlight research of particular interest to students, and now includes design features such as bolded key terms, learning objectives, and bulleted summary points to help students focus on and retain what they've read. A student access code card to MyDevelopmentLab, is bound inside every copy of this text. It is an exciting online learning tool designed to increase student involvement and boost success rates. Video clips, audio clips, observation activities, and simulations add a multi-media learning experience via an electronic version of this text, and powerful assessment tools make a custom study plan that point the way to more efficient study.
