The title is perhaps the best part of this book. The title story, as with many of the stories in this book, has an interesting premise but then falls flat. Chicken Little, who has a credibility problem, is investigating the demise of Humpty when she dies in a car accident. Erma, a polar bear, an emu, and a snake go looking for a gerboopadoop, which is said to be extinct. When they are hot and tired in the desert, they all give up and go their separate ways. Then wind carries the laughter of the not-quite-extinct gerboopadoop. Following the trend of bringing up disgusting details in order to attract boy readers, we have a story about a boy with long nose hair who develops a line of nose hair clothing and sleeping bags. When a dragon attacks Sir Stinks-A-Lot with soap bubbles, the damage is overcome in the arms of his true love as his smell returns. This is a self-published work by Canadian writers. One of them is a professional storyteller. What works as one gives emotional content in person, may not work for readers. Reviewer: Carlee Hallman
