One shipwreck.
One desert island.
Stranded. Separated.
Six kids are stuck on a desert island. They have no food. No shelter. Nobody knows they are lost. They must take from the island in order to survive. But what if they're not alone?
School Library Journal
Gr 4-6 -In the sequel (Scholastic, 2001) to Gordon Korman's Shipwreck (Scholastic, 2001), four shipwrecked teens who were on a month-long trip for youngsters with disciplinary problems arrive on a seemingly deserted island searching for food and shelter. About halfway through the story, the group reunites with two other teens who also survived the boating accident. When a plane lands on the island, the teens witness a murder and decide it would be dangerous to come out of hiding. The men are smugglers dealing in ivory tusks and rare animal parts. In addition, the island once housed a military base during WWII and is still home to the third atomic bomb. There are numerous neat coincidences, but they do add suspense to the story. Holter Graham's narration is pleasant, but he provides few unique voices for the characters. Those new to the series will have no trouble following the plot and will eagerly await the next volume.-Stephanie Farnlacher, Trace Crossings Elementary School, Hoover, AL
